ASICS
Founded in 1949 in Kobe, Japan, as "Onitsuka Co., Ltd.," ASICS is one of the oldest and most research-driven sports footwear companies in the world. The name comes from the Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano" — "a sound mind in a sound body" — a philosophy the brand has followed since its founding.
Today ASICS produces footwear and apparel for a wide range of sports — running, tennis, padel, volleyball, basketball, and more — backed by its own research facility, the ASICS Institute of Sport Science (ISS), which has studied human biomechanics since 1990 to create safer, more efficient footwear.
